Worship is defined one way as, "The acts and attitude of reverence, exultation, and adulation to God."

We worship God because He is our Source. We worship Him because without Him we can do nothing. We praise Him because we love him. We worship Him because He loved us first. We worship God because it is our reasonable service to Him for all He has sacrificed for us. He is our redeemer, our comforter, our provider, and so much more.

Why do we worship? The purpose of our worship is to glorify, honor, praise, exalt, and please God.  Our worship must show our adoration and loyalty to God for His grace in providing us with the way to escape the bondage of sin, so we can have the salvation He so much wants to give us. Our worship not only honors and magnifies God, but it is also for our own edification and strength.  Worship helps us develop a God-like and Christ-like character. We become like unto those we admire and worship.  When we worship God we tend to value what God values and gradually take on the characteristics and qualities of God

At The Hope of Glory Worship Center, worship is done from the heart and is expressed in numerous ways. It is heartfelt worship, worship that is unhindered by legalistic rules, but worship of the Spirit. (John 4:23, 24)

At The Hope of Glory Worship Center, worship is a lifestyle.

  •  We are limited to only one style of worship, the biblical style.
  • We Sing-(Psalm 95:1)-Come let us sing to the Lord! (Psalm 96:1) Sing a new song to the Lord.
  • We Shout-(Psalm 47:1)-Shout to the Lord with joyful praise!
  • We Clap our hands-(Psalm 47:1)-Come, everyone and clap your hands for joy!
  • We lift our hands-(Psalm 134:2)-Lift your hands in holiness, and bless the Lord.
  • We bow before the Lord-(Psalm 95:6)-Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, for He is God.
  • We Dance-(2 Samuel 16:14) David danced before the Lord.
  • We use musical instruments-(Psalm 150:3-5)

Today, in a lukewarm church, we are very much like the people of Malachi’s time.  (Malachi 1:13 “And you say, ‘What a burden!’ And sniff at it contemptuously, says the Lord Almighty.”)  Worship has become a burden for us.  We offer only part of ourselves.  We drag ourselves out of bed on Sunday.  We suffer through an hour long worship service and maybe Sunday school because that’s what is expected of us.  When we sing, we repeat the words without meaning.

Some argue that music should be faster, or more rhythmic, or more entertaining.  The problem doesn’t lie in the music.  It lies in our hearts.  It isn’t the rhythm that makes the music meaningful.  It is our attitude towards singing it.

If worship is done from the heart, no matter what kind of music is being sung, it will be affective and pleasing to God.  The disciples sung hymns.  David danced before the Lord.  The psalmists often sung to the harp and the lyre.  I believe that if David was placed in the company of the apostles, they’d find each other style of worship in music very different.  Whatever the style however, we’ll worship God together in heaven.

You will find all styles of music, songs, and dance when you visit The Hope of Glory Worship Center.

The Hope of Glory Worship Center strongly believes in worship, uncompromising, unrestricted, biblical worship. It’s the type of worship that God hears, enjoys, and responds to. (Psalm 22:3)

 It’s what we do.
